VERY INTERESTING ?
With the eve of the Cup now upon us here are some interesting little facts that could be crucial in knowing what you are facing when you line up against your opponenets this year !
1. Chris Hands & James Berryman have accumilated most singles points boasting an impessive 4 victories from 5 matches.
2. The fourballs format of the game has been good to both Phill Deller and Brian Marshall . Neither have ever tasted defeat with Phill holding a perfect 4 for 4 record.
3. If the Eagles have fourball specialists the Falcons have foursome specialists with both David Taylor Black and Steve Berryman never being beaten . Infact D.T.B has won 5 out of 5 ........... he will be sorely missed !
4. Solid performer Andy Collier has a shocking record loosing all his matches.
5. The King of the 5s continues to be in the grasp of the lower handicappers . Only Andy Budnicks 2005 perfomance bucked the trend
6. If the King of the 5s is the lower handicappers domain then the King of the 3s is most definately the high handicappers . Apart from Steve Berrymans triumph in 2004 this crown has always been won by someone who holds a handicap 28 or above ,
7. Mark Waterhouse has been the level of consistancy since the first C.C.Cup . He has always scored above 30 points a match . This now encompasses 10 rounds ....... Well done Mark !
8. Coxy has managed a record 8 rounds below 30 points but beware this does not stop him from winning matches as he is the Falcons 4th all time top match winner.
9. Brian Marshall has accumalated the most match wins taking 11.5 points out of a possible 16. The best strike rate though belongs to D.T.B 11 out of 13 (85%) ........ impressive. A dark horse to pull out of the pack is J.B.Raymond who has 5 wins from 7 matches to his name !
10. It is not unusal for someone to obtain a perfect record in a year infact D.T.B and B.Marshall have done this twice. No one has yet drawn a blank twice .
