As  the  C.C.Cup  looms  over  the  horizon  it  is  obvious  the  Falcons  will  be  facing  their  toughest  challenge  yet ! After  four  long  years  of  hurt  they  finally  triumphed  over  the  high  flying  eagles  outfit . The  breaking  of  this  psychological  hold  the  opposition  had  over  them  and  the  nature  of  their  emphatic  victory  should  all  point  to  the  Falcons  embarking  on  this  years  renewal  as  favorites . However  a  lot  has  happened  in  the  last  twelve  months ! The  Eagles  have  replaced  two  , shall  we  say   ,weaker  players  in  the  guise  of  Dave " 9 hole " Roscoe  and  the  undisputed  three  times  king  of  the  longest  walk  Darren  Hudson  with  two  potentially  very  strong  rookies  in  Kieth Gill  and  Kenny  G !  Add  to  that  the  Falcons  loosing  seasoned  pro  Gary  Barnet  and  their  talisman  and  all  time  leading  scorer  David  Taylor  Black  and  the  retention  of  the  cup  seems  a  forlorn  if  not  near  impossible  task !

 

               But  hold  on  ,  we  Falcons  must  not  lose  hope  !  Let  us  draw   from  the   inspiration  of  David  and  his  unlikely  triumph  over  the  giant  Goliath .  The  little  fella  had  no  chance  . Even  his  home  supporters  were  laying  him  on  betfair as  he  walked  out  to  do  battle .

 

               As  the  big  man  unsheathed  a  6ft  piece  of  steal  that  could  cut  through  rocks  the  little  man  cooly  drew  out  a  sling  and  a  couple  of  pebbles ........ with  a  couple  of  smooth  twirls  David  was  unleshing  his  projectiles   striking   his  target  with  pinpoint  accuracy  .

Before  the  crowd  knew  what  was  happening  the  big  man  had  hit  the  deck,  the  Isrealites  were  singing  come  and  ave  a  go  if  you  think  your  ard  enough  to  the  Philistines   and  the  under  dog  had  gained  an  unlikely  victory .

 

            So  what  can  we  Falcons  draw  from  this  . 1.  Was  Goliath  a  little  bit  complaicent  ?   2. David  kept  calm and  showed  tremendous  bottle    3. A  good  performance  from  David  gave  his  team  mates  confidence  4. David  had  a  nice  smooth  tempo  to  his  swing  allowing  him  to  fire  off  a  nice  straight  shot !

 

         LETS  GO  TO  BATTLE  FALCONS !!!!!!!
